* Wool naturally resists mildew. People with allergies to molds and mildew benefit from using wool as it is a natrual wicking fiber. Wool releases the moisture 7 times faster than any other synthetic product thus eliminating a damp environment where mold or mildew could grow.

* Wool regulates body temperature. The wool keeps a pocket of air close to your body, while wicking away excess heat and moisture creating a perfect opportunity for a great nights sleep!

* Wool is a natural fire reatardant, and cannot allow a static shock to be transmitted. Thus when a person sleeps on a sheep skin/mattress pad you can not pass on a static shock that could hurt an infant or elderly person. Static electricity charges actively attract dirt so wool does not get as dirty and is easier to clean. Wool is also known to have a naturall antimicrobial effect. In years past hospitals or infirmeries actually hung a bag of lanolin (found in sheep wool) in the rooms to cut down on the transmission or spread of infections.

* Our wool is not treated with resin nor is it dyed. Resin has been found to cause allergic reactions in many people and has been linked to some skin cancers.

* Wool decreases your heart rate. In a study at the Polytechnic Institute of Whales researchers discovered that individuals using wool comforters had a decreased heart rate, meaning they experienced a deeper, more relaxed sleep.

* Wool is environmentally friendly. It is a natuarally occuring resource and relies on very little energy to be refined into a usable product.
